Build A Strong Marriage: Erect Boundaries With Friends of the Opposite Sex

dompress Build A Strong Marriage: Erect Boundaries With Friends of the Opposite Sex by Linda Dominique Grosvenor

For years as single people we have been urged to foster lasting relationships, be open, honest and learn to communicate our needs clearly and effectively in preparation for our spouse. However, once we’ve received that special person into our lives that we wish to cherish, share our hopes and dreams with and connect with on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level, most of us haven’t been taught beyond that. We haven’t been taught how or when to break ties with or “cool down” some former relationships that may be detrimental to the budding marriage covenant itself. Of course, we’re talking about being friends with those of the opposite sex.

Say In A Word

Becky Dewitt (44) Say In A Word
by Becky DeWitt

Many in the Body of Christ have not received the revelation of the greatness that is within. “Do you not know that your are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (I Corinthians 3:16).  When we (the flesh) die daily and allow His Spirit to have complete control, we began a walk on a journey that gives voice to the power within the Sons of God.

The faith, the absolute trust and confidence in the power of the Creator, who is within you, has a voice. God has given each of His sons a measure of faith that enables them to complete the assignments that are given. Your faith speaks according to the level of Word that is engrafted within you. Can Jesus find the faith within the Sons of God that will manifest and make a difference in the earth?

Dare to Fly and Soar Like an Eagle

by Alvin C. Romer

How faithful you are to Divine order will spell the difference between success and failure. “I believe I can fly” the song says…if you truly believe that you CAN, you will! It’s amazing to me how much we can learn from animals. Existing with them in this world has allowed us to be cognizant of their habits and the essence of their presence.

Many places in the Bible there are references to animals, i.e., snakes, sheep, doves, a donkey, etc. My favorite, bar none, is the eagle! Why the eagle? In Isaiah we are told that “if we trust in the Lord we would find new strength and fly high like eagles”…well, let’s see how we can be faithful in doing this as it pertain to our choice on becoming the best authors that we can be. I would like to share some characteristics of eagles that we, both as believers and as astute caretakers of applying words to illustrate our stories can be definitive.

Access Granted

The month of February is a month which there is a great celebration of love especially on Valentine’s Day. But there is a greater celebration of love that occurs every day of the year and it is eternal love. It is the love of the Father for each and every one of us. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

God is so awesome that at the beginning of creation, even though He already knew the outcome, He made provision to reconcile us back into His presence. Prior to our existence in this natural world, we were with Him in the supernatural. The minute that we are born, the enemy targets us for his usage. God’s love for us was the reason that He provided the access that overrides the world system from which the enemy operates. In other words, there is not a reason for anyone who comes into this world to miss the opportunity to be and return into His presence.

A Love Letter To My LORD

image A Love Letter To My LORD
by Damainion L. Ewell

My Dearest LORD,

I am not sure where to begin, or what to even say at the time of this letter. To be perfectly honest, I do not know what to even call You. You have so many names that carry so many different meanings, depending on what situation I am faced with at the moment. When I am broke and clinging on to my last dime, I call You Jehovah-Jireh, the LORD my provider. When I am sick and clinging on to my last breath, I call You Jehovah-Ropheka, the LORD my healer. When utter HELL and chaos is front and center in my life, I call You Jehovah-Shalom, the LORD my peace. When I begin to curse and come out of character, I call You Jehovah-Tsidkenu, the LORD my righteousness. When I am in a sin-ridden existence and have nothing but darkness to befriend me, I call You Jehovah-Mekaddishkem, the LORD my sanctifier.

Man’s Eyes

by Damainion Ewell

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye” (Matthew 7:1-5, NKJV).

We are living in a time where, unfortunately, society lives and dies by the judgment which it doles out. If judgment, on any level, is not executed, the world’s system would most likely perish. The ideology of people is the very basis of worldly riches. If you pick up the latest fashion magazines, music reviews and the like, it is laden with judgment as to what is the latest trend and what is considered out of style. Regrettably, these fads change so rapidly that most people have fits of dizziness while trying to keep up with it all. As the seasons change, so does the make-up. Seemingly as the hour changes, the hottest fashion designer has become lukewarm or has found their home on a snow-capped mountain somewhere.
