Many in the Body of Christ have not received the revelation of the greatness that is within. “Do you not know that your are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (I Corinthians 3:16). When we (the flesh) die daily and allow His Spirit to have complete control, we began a walk on a journey that gives voice to the power within the Sons of God.

The faith, the absolute trust and confidence in the power of the Creator, who is within you, has a voice. God has given each of His sons a measure of faith that enables them to complete the assignments that are given. Your faith speaks according to the level of Word that is engrafted within you. Can Jesus find the faith within the Sons of God that will manifest and make a difference in the earth?

The Centurion faith in Luke 7:1-10 and Matthew 8: 5-13 is an example of great faith. The Centurion received revelation and understanding that the words of Jesus have authority over everything. As Jesus was the Word of God in the flesh, “the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil.” (I John 3: 8b). Jesus came to us as the Living Word, speaking and breathing life. “It is the Spirit who gives life, He is the life-giver: the flesh conveys no benefit whatever, there is no profit in it. The words, truths, that I have been speaking to you are Spirit and life.” (John 6:63 AMP).

In Luke 7:1-10, when the Centurion heard of Jesus, he sent Jewish leaders to ask Jesus to come and heal his servant. His faith was speaking because he knew of the power of Jesus. As Jesus came closer to his home, the Centurion sent another word extending his faith that Jesus did not even need to come into his home. The faith of the Centurion met Jesus before he arrived on the scene to do anything. The Centurion’s faith said only “say in a word”, and my servant shall be healed.” (Luke 7:7).

This Centurion was no ordinary Roman official. The scripture indicates that ‘he loveth our nation, and hath built us a synagogue.” (Luke 7:5). He would have had to been acquainted with Jewish laws and customs to complete such a task. Is it possible, that with all of this authority, that he could have had the privilege to listen outside the temple to the reading of the Word? Maybe the words of the Old Testament, a particular Psalm reached his ears. “He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them fro their destruction.” (107:20). Did the Centurion’s “faith cometh by hearing, and by hearing the Word of God?” (Romans 10:17).

When Jesus heard of the faith of the Centurion in the words that he sent, “He marveled at him and turned Him about, and said unto the people that followed Him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.” (Luke 7:9). The word marvel is defined as amazement or filled with wonder at something surprisingly extraordinary. Jesus found faith that was not among his own people that He was sent to. Remember in Nazareth, at the beginning of His ministry, Jesus found unbelief and rejection in his country. “And He could do no mighty work, save that He laid His hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief.” (Mark 6:5-6).

As Sons of God, we need the boldness of behold and beware activated in our faith so that Jesus marvels and manifests His mighty power upon the earth. Our faith, our simple trust, needs to rise to meet and touch to be engrafted in the move of the Holy Spirit for mighty manifestations of God’s power in the earth realm. We have read about the move of God in the Bible, heard about Azusa Street, and the great healing revivals. The question is, are you ready to see and be an active and willing vessel to be used for the glory of God?

“And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” (Mark 16:20).

The month of February is a month which there is a great celebration of love especially on Valentine’s Day. But there is a greater celebration of love that occurs every day of the year and it is eternal love. It is the love of the Father for each and every one of us. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

God is so awesome that at the beginning of creation, even though He already knew the outcome, He made provision to reconcile us back into His presence. Prior to our existence in this natural world, we were with Him in the supernatural. The minute that we are born, the enemy targets us for his usage. God’s love for us was the reason that He provided the access that overrides the world system from which the enemy operates. In other words, there is not a reason for anyone who comes into this world to miss the opportunity to be and return into His presence.

Since we have access granted, we should have a hunger to be in the presence of the Lord, yet we are far, far away. Many in the Body of Christ fail to realize that there are two sides to our relationship with the Father. The word relationship, not religion, is defined as having a connection or a dependence. If one is truly connected to God, you will realize that you are dependent on Him for everything. There is not one single thing that you can do without Him. He is the very air that you breathe!

Have you ever taken the time to think that God depends on you? You may think what could God possibly depend on me for? There are many things since God is a spirit and you are flesh and bone. He needs a body in the earth realm.

Recently I was meditating on certain scriptures concerning the sons of Zadok. They were a part of the Levitical priests in the Old Testament who kept the burnt offering continually on the altar. They kept the fire burning the flesh. There is an interesting passage, Ezekiel 40:46, which states, “and the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keeper of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near to the Lord to minister unto Him.” I begin to wonder how do we minister to the Lord. Several answers came such as praise, worship, and obedience. But the sons of Zadok were separate from the others in the Levitical priesthood as they did something that was different, but special to the heart of God.

The word states that they ministered to God. To minister is to attend to or care for the wants and needs of someone. How do we attend to the wants and needs of the Almighty God, El Shaddai, the all sufficient one? Perhaps that we are too busy asking Him to minister to us, to take care of our wants and needs that we neglect to consider His.

“But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord God:” (Ezekiel 44:15). Is there a remnant that will stay at the altar? Some of us are too far away even though access has been granted. Where is the desire, the fire, which you will place upon the altar? Is it that we do not want the refiner’s fire to cleanse the filthiness of the flesh? “And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord and offering of righteousness.” (Malachi 3:3).

Who or what will cause you to go astray and not only leave, but forget about the needs of your first love? Who or what will you let hinder you from the secret place in His pavilion? His love is eternal, yet patient, all the while, He waits for you.

“Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.” (Psalm 65:4)

As I was mediating on the title, and the timing of this writing, the Lord brought back to my memory an act of faith declaration that I made in 1989 before I was a Believer. I remembered on New Year’s Eve night going to church for one hour before I went to the party. Before I went to the service and during the service , I told the Lord that I had spent the entire decade of the 80’s on drugs and alcohol, and that I would not enter into the 90’s or even waste another decade of my life in that condition. Well, the result was the conviction of the Holy Spirit which led to my salvation in 1991. There was never a day of rehab or a counseling program. It was a day of declaration and one step towards Jesus that was my deliverance. The power of life and death was on my tongue even before I was saved or knew where the scripture was that operated and produced the result in my life! (Proverbs 18:21).

The Body of Christ has not truly entered into the realm of the kingdom operation of speech. There are certain laws that God has set into operation and the law of confession is one of them. Even the many mysteries that Jesus spoke through parables for our revelation, the spoken words are in still in the atmosphere today. We have not processed the revelation for understanding the fact that His speech is still in effect. They may be written for our reading, but they were spoken first.

As a son of God, your words are important because they contain power that will create and changes things around us. We are the only ones on the planet who can read God’s word and speak it back into the atmosphere. We are His vessels who produce an echo effect by continually speaking His word. Is that the reason “the whole of creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now?” (Romans 8:22). It is your faith that springs from your heart that supplies the power of the spoken word. Even the words that you pray are powerful enough to change any situation. There is an old saying that ‘prayer changes things.’

In the book of Daniel, Chapter 10, Daniel had set himself to fast and pray for twenty-one days. He was diligently seeking the Lord concerning many matters. He experienced a great visitation unlike any other time in his life. His eyes and ears were opened to see and hear the angel of the Lord. The angel said “I have come for thy words.” (Daniel 10:12). The words that were spoken by Daniel were so powerful that God had commanded an angel to be sent unto him when he first spoke. The answer was immediately released, but the enemy withstood the angel for twenty-one days until the archangel, Michael came to help.

One might ask what were the words that Daniel spoke to have such an effect. What was in the answer that had the enemy so fearful of what was released from heaven? We know that angels hearken unto the voice of the Lord. (Psalm 103:20). The word of the Lord spoken by you is His voice in you as He is in you. Believers tend to forget that the new birth experience involves the living God taking up residence in you, His vessel. Are your words and prayers a threat to the enemy or do the assist the enemy?

As we are entering into a new decade, a new season and time in the Body of Christ, will our faith rise as we begin to speak and celebrate a new move of God? Are you willing to “remember not the former things; neither consider the things of old?” (Isaiah 43:18). Are you ready to enter into the promises of God that are just for you?

The words that I spoke almost two decades ago not only charged but changed the atmosphere and circumstances, creating a new path for my life. I now exist in the realm of the words that were spoken then. What will you speak about your future in this new decade? Will an angel come for the words that you speak concerning your future? Can your prayers open the portal to the windows of heaven with angels ascending with requests and descending with the answers? Your dreams are not bigger than what God has for you. Your eyes may not have seen, or your ears heard, and it may not have even entered into your heart as yet, but when it does, speak it out into the atmosphere. Let the Father and all of heaven know that you know that nothing is impossible with Him.

“Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy way.” (Job 22:28)

The Christ in Christmas can never be substituted.

Every year during this season, many are celebrating the birth of Jesus. From an early age, we have heard the word “Christ” in Christmas, celebrating the Gift with gifts. Retailers have tried to replace the word “Christ” with an X. The have even made an attempt to change the phrase “Merry Christmas” to something that would be politically correct. But the seed of the word “Christ” is so planted deep in our hearts that even the unbeliever will rise up in defense against any change.

The scriptures foretold this great event. “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14). This word, this announcement, released by the prophet Isaiah, traveled through the centuries of time until the manifestation. When He spoke what he saw, the vision into the atmosphere, it was as if he were actually present, although the birth was not for many years to come. Over the span of time, it was written and spoken of the coming of the Messiah. This word was carried in the hearts of many who were privileged to hear and believe.

In Luke 1: 26-35, God sent the angel, Gabriel to announce the time of the birth of Jesus. He informs Mary that she is the chosen vessel for the word that has come down through the ages. It was the appointed season ordained by God. It was all a part of the Master’s plan, the architect of all creation.

Imagine that Mary had heard this word all of her life just like many others in Israel. Her faith came by hearing this word. (Romans 10:17). She carried the word in her heart of the coming of the Messiah just like everyone else not knowing that she was the chosen vessel to actually carry the Word made flesh to dwell among us.

Reading the passage, you will note that Mary did not understand the possibility of what was to occur. Gabriel explained how she would have a supernatural encounter with the Holy Spirit. He even explained that her cousin, Elizabeth was with child by natural means supernaturally. Remember, this angel is Gabriel who stands in the presence of God speaking the word of God. (Luke 1:19). He had already spoken to Zechariah concerning Elizabeth’s conception. God took flesh that was barren and made it fertile to produce life.“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37).

Our God planned this event in eternity for us who exist in time. A funny thing about time, it has not been able to erode the significance of this event in the lives of those who have heard the word. We hear the word Christmas and we know it is about Christ the child. We hear the word Easter and we know that it is about Christ, the man, dead, buried and resurrected.

The word “Christ” is listed in the New Testament 537 times. Whether we realize it or not that word is held in our hearts and will be for generations to come. Many may deny, but one day that word will cause the transformation that all of heaven is waiting for. Some words have come and gone never to be pronounced on the lips of man again, but Christ will always be in Christmas.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6).

My Father’s Eyes
by Becky DeWitt

At the moment of your birth, several comments were made as to who you may have appeared to look like in your physical features. Time brought on many changes in your appearance, as you developed to favor someone else in the family. I have always been told my entire life that I looked just like one of my father’s sisters. Early in my life, many times I was mistakenly identified as her daughter. But at a recent family reunion, I heard something that I have never heard before. Someone was looking at the family pictures on the wall and said to me, “you have your father’s eyes”.

Naturally, I moved closer in an attempt to see what the person saw. I looked and could see the resemblance, but my thoughts were in another place. Because, the minute she said those words “your father’s eyes”, my thoughts immediately went to the eyes of God. This was a topic that my Pastor had done a bible study on in the beginning of the year.

Remembering this brought back several aspects of the teaching. One question I began to ponder is, if I have my Father’s eyes, is it possible to see as He sees? But then the thought came that I needed to look like Him before I could see as He sees. To look like Him is a part of the new birth experience that connects me back to Him for reconciliation.“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold all things become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17). So as a new spiritual creation in Christ, engrafted in Him, accepted in the beloved, I have the opportunity to have new eyes.

The problem that accompanies this opportunity is that my flesh has not caught up with my spirit. The outward man must die daily as my inward man is renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:6). By the grace of God this process is a preparation to see like I have never seen. The renewing is through the mediation on the truth of God’s word. This daily meditation will cause the “renewing in the spirit of the mind.”(Ephesians 4:23).

I must continue the process because my “eyes have not seen, or my ears heard, or entered into my heart, the things which my Father has prepared for me because of my love for Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9) My Father has things made ready and kept ready for me. As all of my days are written in His book of life, He is ready and waiting for me to recognize, understand, and receive everything He has planned. These revelations will come through His Spirit as He opens my eyes to see as He sees. “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:12). I must possess the mind of Christ, the thoughts, intents and purpose, so that I will not only look like Him, but that my eyes are lifted into His realm.

Once the seed of the words “you have your father’s eyes” hit the atmosphere and penetrated my mind and heart, I began to look for the resemblance. Looking intently after the thought, I saw something. “For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7). Meditating on this even the more, I began to wonder what would I see, if I can see as my Father (heavenly) sees. Will He see my faith in this area and open my eyes?

In 2 Kings 6:8-23, the account of the prophet Elisha and his encounter with the Syrians is a revelation to how the eyes can be opened to see into another dimension. The Lord had revealed the plans and movements of the King of Syria to Elisha for the deliverance of Israel. The king was set to come against Elisha with a mighty army. Fear gripped the servant of Elisha as he went out the next morning and saw the army surrounding the city.

The first thing Elisha did was to speak against the spirit of fear. Then he spoke “for they that be with us are more than they that be with them” (2 Kings 6:18). But Elisha also prayed for God to open his servant’s eyes that he may see as he saw, which was the truth behind the scenes. It was at that point that the spirit realm was opened for the servant to see the horses and chariots of fire around them.

The prophet, the mouthpiece of God, knew and had confidence that God was with Him. He walked and exercised authority as he had the vision of God. His eyes were already opened. When Elisha prayed for the eyes of his servant, there was an elevation in the servant’s faith as he saw the power and greatness of God. He experienced a realm that he never even had a thought of before.

Many men and women of God have received great visions for Kingdom purpose. As you serve in the house, you will not be able completely embrace the vision unless your eyes are opened to see what your leader sees. You will never be able to assist him or her in the capacity that God has ordained because your eyes are not opened to that realm.

When you began to see though the eyes of God your spirit will be opened to see as He sees because your spirit is connected to His. It is in that connection that your faith level will increase, because He allowing you to see and experience His awesome glorious power. As this occurs you will began to see differently. As my sight begins to change, will the Father see that I have His eyes as He watches over me? Will I see past what He has for me and see what He has and wants for others to see? Will I begin to look upon others with His love? Will I see with compassion for the lost souls that He wants for the Kingdom? Will I see His heart for His people?

“And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”

(2 Corinthian 3:18).Amplified

Hit The Streets
by Becky DeWitt

Recently, I attended a two week revival at my church headquarters in Charleston that challenged me to do something in a way that I never even imagined. The challenge is to win souls for Jesus Christ, but with a new compassion. You may say that as a Believer, that is a part of the Great Commission. But like many in the Body of Christ, I was beginning to fall asleep on the pew inside the four walls. Because of the hunger within, I had gotten tired of church as usual. I know deep within that there is more that we have yet to experience.

One night while standing at the altar as a prayer went forth into the atmosphere for the fire and passion of evangelism, there was a change. I heard the Holy Spirit whisper a name, Bill Sunday. Now, I had heard of the great evangelist from the early 1900’s, but have never read or researched anything about him. I was prompted to go to the internet to look for more information. Well, the first thing that I found was a sermon from 1922 entitled “He That Winneth Souls Is Wise.

As I read this sermon, I received and impression for the “one”. Everyone does not receive salvation at the altar inside the four walls. Notice I did not say church, because the Body of Christ holds the position of the church. I know from first hand experience. No one led me to the altar. No one gave me the words to the sinner’s prayer. For the state of mind that I was in at the time, the only thing that could lift me up and out was to call out to the Father. There are some who receive Jesus through one on one conversation. Maybe that “one” is the “one” who will be used to win thousands. Have you ever thought about the “one” in that aspect?

The book of Acts gives a glimpse into the movement of the early church. Christianity spread throughout the Roman Empire despite persecution. This move of God has been continuous for centuries. It will never die, but only intensify through the fires of the Holy One that have yet to be imparted, received, and manifested as the time grows closer to the return of the Lord. Anyone who attempt to hinder or frustrate this move are in for the awakening and conversion that will boggle their minds.

Jesus gave instructions to the disciples not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, the baptism of the Holy Spirit. “But ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). These were the last words that Jesus spoke unto them before His ascension. Can you even imagine the Holy Spirit waiting for Jesus to return to His heavenly abode so the He could receive the tag to enter into the earth realm in a new way? Remember the Holy Spirit was at the beginning of creation hovering, moving, and waiting for the Lord to speak before He would began the construction process. Unlike the days of the Old Testament, now He would be able to dwell within this creation. “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?” (Psalm 8:4).

Those who waited in the upper room did not stay there. They were to be witnesses to the entire world and not to each other. The church has to come out of the upper room and get into the market place. You cannot be a witness in the upper room because the people who are there are just like you. The people outside are waiting for you to come out.

Now when they came out of the upper room, they came out! They came out with a new thing, speaking in other tongues the wonderful works of God. They could not contain themselves as the fire burned within. Can you imagine being at the mall and all of a sudden this group of people comes through speaking mysteries that you hear and understand flooding your very being?

It is always noted that Peter spoke to give those who were in confusion an explanation of what had just happened. His words that day led to the conversion of over 3000 souls. Can we take this to the mall or even to the football stadium? “And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” (Acts 2:47).

Everyone else in the upper room may not have had the opportunity to speak to a crowd. Maybe the language that they spoke was just for one or a few. What language will you speak to the one or few that are assigned to you? As a result of this experience, I wrote my first tract for witnessing. I asked the Lord to give me the words that would reach the “one” for salvation. I understand that there are many who need salvation. But maybe while speaking to the “one”, I would have spoken to many.

“The fruit of righteousness is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30)
