How to Become a True Christian and a Distinguished Gentleman by Alvin C. Romer
I was asked recently a series of questions in reference to Christian behavior and how men should carry themselves as such. During the course of eliciting a favorable and balanced answer it dawned on me that the validity of the questions caused for a more in-depth response. As I looked around taking inventory of behavior patterns in men, I found that few gave a true indication of not only being gentlemen, but Christian value either was lacking or non-existent. To be sure, Christians are expected to behave in certain ways, but does behaving in those certain ways make one a Christian? More important, if a person fails to live up to those certain behaviors, what formulaic mannerisms should they be abiding? Or, is the assessment "lesser" have any bearing on how one should live on a whole?

Christianity is not a party. Walking with God is a lifestyle. As a result, things may go wrong. We have this belief that because we are born again that we will be free from trouble. The exact opposite is true. We are told in Psalms 34:19, “Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” In the time of trouble, what will God do? Hide us. Our heavenly Father does not say that He is going to deliver us out of trouble, but He will hide us in the midst of it.

You Are Something Strange!
by Vanessa Richardson
I am saved, single, and not having sex. I dedicated myself life and body to Christ at an early age. God didn’t come into my life in a storm. It was in calm; that I answered the call to become a follower of Christ. It was one of the greatest things I’ve ever done! I am not perfect by any means. I have fallen short of the mark on several occasions. I just don’t love God but I am in love with Him. There is not a day that goes by that I am not mindful of Him.

The Flavor Of Love

As you gather up every picture frame on display throughout the house, you see precious memories of days and years gone by. Family picnics, sporting events, trips to the circus, and even outings to the amusement park that scared the dickens out of you. White teeth are a marvel to behold, especially the ones that are missing from mouths of the children. Your eyes gaze endlessly at the kids standing in front of the monkey bars, swinging up dangerously high in the swing set, and your child’s first baseball practice. All of the pictures with you and the children have been strategically placed to make the obvious not so obvious.

THE JOURNEY
Hit The Streets
by Becky DeWitt
Recently, I attended a two week revival at my church headquarters in Charleston that challenged me to do something in a way that I never even imagined. The challenge is to win souls for Jesus Christ, but with a new compassion. You may say that as a Believer, that is a part of the Great Commission. But like many in the Body of Christ, I was beginning to fall asleep on the pew inside the four walls. Because of the hunger within, I had gotten tired of church as usual. I know deep within that there is more that we have yet to experience.
