Dealing with Discouragement
by Filoiann Wiedenhoff
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV
Do you want to hear something funny? I started writing this article, “Dealing with Discouragement”, several months ago and every time I began working on it, I would get discouraged and want to quit. Oh the irony. Well, I thought it was funny but now I wonder if it was spiritual warfare.

God Protects His Investments
by Damainion Ewell
You walk through your front door after fighting through traffic. You are too mentally exhausted to hang up your coat, so you just toss it across the couch. You drop the keys on your glass table. With a loud thud, the table is nearly cracked up the middle. The high-priced designer shoes you recently purchased gets the bargain-priced treatment, as you kick them off and fling them across the room. You flop down on the couch, laying on top of the coat that you threw down beforehand and grab the remote. As you proceed to flick from channel to channel, you notice some alarming words that wander across the screen. According to reports, thousands upon thousands more people have lost their jobs. You decide to entertain the negative, so you listen as the news anchor announces an outlook of doom, gloom, and utter bleakness.

They Cried Out
by Becky DeWitt
Recently, during the Feast of Purim, the Jewish celebration of deliverance from the enemy’s plan of extinction, my son gave me a copy of the book of Esther in Hebrew and English. by Michael Taylor
As the story of Chris Brown and Rihanna’s domestic dispute continues to make headlines, it brings attention to a very important challenge facing America today. Although the primary issue appears to be about men abusing women, the real tragedy is that men are abusing children in addition to abusing each other as well.
The real issue here is how do we eradicate violence all together? What can be done to keep men from killing each other and hurting the people they are supposed to love?

Drs. Clarence and Ja’Ola Walker work to bring hope and systematic practices to promote strong and healthy relationships within the African American community.
Chicago, IL (BlackNews.com) – As the country embarks on a mandate of relevant change, it is essential to look at the state of the "traditional" family structure within our communities. It is estimated that only 46% of African American families are likely to contain a married couple, making African Americans far more likely than Whites and Hispanics to be divorced.

10 TIPS FOR BLACK JOB SEEKERS
By Dante Lee
1) Tighten up your resume. Make sure to correct all typos, and limit it to just one page. Also, don’t mention any work experience from more than 10 years ago – unless its really relevant.
2) Don’t overdress. When you go to a job interview, dress modestly and go easy on the cologne or perfume. Remember, it’s you and your skills that they are interested in – not your fashion style.
